Preparation of a New Type of Water Retaining Agent and Its Application in Soil Water and Fertilizer Conservation in Open-pit Mines

Abstract
In order to improve the soil environment around open-pit coal mines and enhance their water and fertilizer retention capacity,a new type of water retaining agent BS-1 was prepared by aqueous solution polymerization using acrylic acid,sodium alginate,polyepoxysuccinic acid,and kaolin as raw materials.Its water absorption performance,repeated water absorption performance,and impact on the water and fertilizer retention capacity of open-pit coal mine soil were evaluated.The results showed that under the same experimental conditions,the water absorption capacity and repeated water absorption capacity of the new water retaining agent BS-1 were significantly better than the other two commonly used commercially available water retaining agents.When the test time was 100 minutes,the water absorption rate of BS-1 can reach 685.2,and when repeated 7 times,the water absorption rate of BS-1 can still reach 287.6.When 0.2%of the new water retaining agent BS-1 was applied to the soil of the target open-pit coal mine,the cumulative leaching amount of N fertilizer,P fertilizer,and K fertilizer in the soil can be reduced by 56.89%,35.78%,and 56.00%,respectively,and the water and fertilizer retention effect was good.The research results suggest that the new water retaining agent BS-1 can effectively improve the water and fertilizer retention capacity of the target open-pit coal mine soil.关键词
