Abstract

[Objective]Aiming at the problems such as the low degree of mechanization of tobacco transplantation,high labor cost,and insufficient automation of existing transplanters,and in combina-tion with the agronomic requirements for tobacco transplantation in the plain tobacco-growing areas such as Xuchang and Pingdingshan in Henan Province,a fully automatic self-propelled crawler tobacco transplanter was designed,which can complete the operations of hole digging,transplanta-tion,and water injection at one time.[Method]A well-cellar-type planting mechanism was developed,comprising a planting gearbox,eight-link mechanism,hole-drilling bit,and duckbill planter.Motion simulation of the planting mechanism was conducted using Adams software to analyze the duckbill tra-jectory,intermittent motion characteristics,and hole-drilling verticality.Longitudinal and lateral limit overturning angle models were established to evaluate vehicle stability.Field trials were performed to validate transplanting performance.[Result]Field tests conducted at the experimental site in Jiaozuo,Henan Province,demonstrated that at a transplanting frequency of 50 plants·min-1 and seedling age of 60 days,the seedling damage rate was 1.67%,average missed planting rate was 4%,and transplant-ing qualification rate reached 94.33%.[Conclusion]The fully automatic self-propelled crawler tobacco transplanter exhibits excellent performance with superior terrain adaptability,high operational efficiency,and low seedling damage rate,which can meet field operation requirements.Future research will focus on optimizing the precision and durability of the planting mechanism and exploring its adaptability for other crops.
