Abstract

The Fe-B/N-C single-atom catalyst(SAC)was prepared by a one-pot synthesis method for the removal of pollutants in coking wastewater via peroxymonosulfate(PMS)activation.The catalyst contained 3.69%(w)Fe loading,and doping with boron did not alter the catalyst's morphology.The Fe,B,N,and C elements were well-dispersed on the surface of Fe-B/N-C.The Fe-B/N-C/PMS system demonstrated excellent catalytic performance,achieving 100%phenol removal within 10 min and 75.8%TOC removal within 30 min,when the Fe-B/N-C dosage was 0.5 g/L and PMS concentration was 2.0 g/L.Compared with the PMS-only and Fe-N-C/PMS systems,the Fe-B/N-C/PMS system exhibited superior performance in removing fluorescent dissolved organic matter(FDOM)from coking wastewater.After 30 min reaction,the fluorescence intensity of the wastewater decreased by 84.8%,with protein,tryptophan,and dissolved microbial metabolite removal reaching 80.9%,60.8%,and 81.4%,respectively.
