Professor Li Candong's Experience in Treating Gout
摘要
Abstract
Professor Li Candong argues that the fundamental cause of gout is a deficiency of the liver,spleen and kidneys,while damp-heat and phlegm-turbidity constitute the superficial manifestations.Professor Li Candong's medical cases and relevant papers summarizes his clinical thinking in the differentiation and treatment of gout.Guided by the holistic concept and"Five Differen-tiations"thinking,he employs the Four Diagnostic Methods for syndrome differentiation and treatment.The basic principle is to address the superficial manifestations during acute attacks and to consider both the root and manifestations during remission.Gout is classified into acute and remission based on the disease progression.During the acute phase,damp-heat pouring downward is pre-dominant,and the main treatment approach involves clearing heat and eliminating dampness,promoting qi circulation to activate col-laterals.In remission,different syndromes are identified according to clinical symptoms,including internal accumulation of damp-ness and heat syndrome,internal accumulation of phlegm and heat syndrome,phlegm and blood stasis obstruction syndrome,qi defi-ciency with dampness obstruction syndrome,and spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome.Medical cases are provided as sup-porting evidence.关键词
