Abstract

Reinforced concrete structures in severely cold regions may be subjected to the combined effects of freeze-thaw dam-age and reinforcement corrosion,which can significantly compromise their durability.The study conducted freeze-thaw cycles tests and electrochemical corrosion tests of steels to comparatively analyze the effects of freeze-thaw cycles and theoretical corro-sion rates on the damage patterns of reinforced concrete,ultrasonic pulse velocity,and rebar pull-out strength.The results showed that the freeze-thaw cycles damage will accelerate the rate of corrosion of rebar,and increase significantly with the deepening of freeze-thaw damage and the increase of rust.The research results could provide reference for the durability evaluation and deci-sion-making of reinforced concrete structure in cold areas.
