Abstract

Dou-Gong bracket(DG)is a unique structural component used in ancient timber buildings,and its mechanical performance significantly affects the overall safety of the ancient structure.The development and evolution process of DG were overviewed,and the types and functions of DG were summarized.The mechanical properties of DG were summarized and analyzed with emphasis on the force mechanism,numerical model,and mechanical model.In the aspect of the force mechanism,the failure characteristics of DG under vertical load and horizontal load were discussed respectively,and the effects of construction features,wood mechanical properties,and deteriorating damage on the mechanical properties of DG were summarized.In the aspect of the numerical model,the refined and simplified models were summarized.The refined model considered the modeling method,wood constitutive relation,and friction contact characteristics.The simplified model used beam elements,truss elements and spring elements to simulate the DG components and overall DG.In the aspect of the mechanical model,the load-displacement relationship and the restoring force model of DG were analyzed.Although the existing research on DG is comprehensive,there are still some issues,including inadequate research types,unclear force mechanisms under multi-factor coupling,incomplete mechanical models,and insufficient research on deteriorating damage,seismic performance evaluation,and performance improvement.It is suggested to further study the mechanical properties of DG at inner eaves,analyze the multi-factor coupling force mechanism of DG,establish the general mechanical model of DG,and develop the wood damage identification technology and evaluation method,which can provide further reference for in-depth study of mechanical performance of DG,and facilitate protection of such systems.
