摘要

Abstract

The wind turbine blades are susceptible to erosion during operation due to repeated impacts from raindrops.Ero-sion damage can affect the aerodynamic and structural performances of the blade,leading to a reduction in annual energy produc-tion and an increase at maintenance costs.Therefore,a fluid-solid coupled model is developed to simulate the vertical impact of a single water droplet of 2 mm in diameter with a velocity of 100 m/s on coating systems with different surface coating and to ana-lyze the effects of material properties on the impacts.The results show that the larger the Young'smodulus of the coating materi-al,the shorter the initial compression phase of the water droplets will be.When Young'smodulus of the coating material increas-es,the water droplets'impact leads to an increase in the stress level in the material and more pronounced surface Rayleigh waves.As a result,materials with low Young'smodulus respond to impacts better,which reduces stresses on the impacted sur-face and suppressing stress waves.The results of this study can provide guidance for the development of wind turbine blade sur-face coatings that are more resistant to repeated impacts by high-velocity water droplets.
