Historical Positioning,Academic Controversy,and Contemporary Implications of Rolston's Environmental Ethics Thought
摘要
Abstract
Holmes Rolston devoted his life to exploring the relationship between humanity and nature.His ideological system occupies a unique and important position in the history of environmental ethics and contemporary environmental practices.In terms of historical positioning,Rolston inherited and developed Leopold's"land ethics",expanding the moral concern of Western ethics from interpersonal relationships to the entire ecosystem,achieving the"wilderness turn"of ethical theory.In academic debates,its natural intrinsic value theory has sparked persistent debates on facts and values,anthropocentrism and non-anthropocentrism,individualism and holism.At the contemporary value level,Rolston's concept of"systematic value"and wilderness practice have enlightening significance for sustainable development and provide important theoretical resources for the construction of China's ecological civilization.Future research should focus on exploring the possibility of dialogue between Rolston's ideas and traditional Chinese ecological wisdom,as well as its application prospects in global environmental governance.关键词
