Wilderness Aesthetics:Dialogue Between Rolston and China
摘要
Abstract
The Chinese concept of"unity of humanity and nature"and the Western pursuit of ecosystem wholeness, both tend to a kind of"harmony"between man and nature. However, the way of pursuing the"harmony"of natural aesthetics is different between the two.The concept of nature in the"unity of humanity and nature"is more of a humanized nature, emphasizing the mutual adaptation between humans and nature. The wilderness aesthetic represented by Rolston,on the other hand, focuses on the primitive dimension of nature, and strengthens the protection of primitive nature in the pursuit of humanity and nature as a whole. At the same time, the pursuit of wilderness in the West has developed into an assertion of"the complete beauty of nature",and the complete eco-centrism has developed into a kind of weak anthropocentrism, resulting in a situation in which human beings have lost their voice in nature. Therefore, the concept of"nature as complete beauty"should be developed in the direction of"common beauty of humanity and nature".China's current eco-aesthetics in the sense of ecological existentialism takes into account both humanity and nature, and presents itself as a kind of new ecological humanism from the standpoint of the"balanced harmony".These academic dialogues between Rolston and China based on wilderness aesthetics have important implications for the development of Chinese and Western aesthetics.关键词
