The Spatial Differences and Formation Mechanism of High-Quality Development of China's Manufacturing Industry

Abstract
Based on the connotation of high-quality development of manufacturing industry,an evaluation index system is constructed with high-end,intelligent,green,and integrated goals as the objectives of high-quality development of manufacturing industry.The random forest algorithm considering regional variables is used to evaluate the level of high-quality development of manufacturing industry in 30 provinces of China from 2012 to 2021,and analyze their development trends and spatial characteristics.Furthermore,the Dagum Gini coefficient method is used to reveal regional differences and their sources.Finally,the Quadratic Assignment Procedure(QAP)is used to explore the formation mechanism of spatial differences.The results show that:The high-quality development level of China's manufacturing industry has been improving year by year,but there are significant regional differences.The connection between high-quality development of manufacturing industries between provinces is becoming increasingly close,showing a clear trend of agglomeration,and the differences are gradually widening.The influence of factors such as the progressiveness of production technology,the transformation efficiency of scientific and technological achievements,the level of digital technology,and the marketization level of information technology services is gradually increasing.关键词
