Abstract

In order to elucidate the mechanism of direct coal liquefaction,the product distributions and free radicals reaction behaviors under different hydrogen donating conditions was investigated,and the correlation between product yields and free radical concentrations was established.The results indicated that the free radicals reaction behaviors were influenced by the interaction of solvent properties,atmosphere and catalyst activity,etc.The yields of residue and asphaltene correlated significantly with free radical concentrations,with an approximate positive trend under all three hydrogen donating conditions,but with notable differences in trends.When the activated hydrogen from solvent or H2,the oil and water yields exhibited a negative correlation with the free radical concentration of asphaltenes.In contrast,when activated hydrogen from solvent and H2,the oil and water yields showed a positive correlation with free radical concentration of asphaltene.At the same free radical concentration of asphaltene,the oil and water yields followed the order of:activated hydrogen from solvent and H2>activated hydrogen from solvent>activated hydrogen from H2.Activated hydrogen from solvent can effectively stabilized the macromolecular free radicals generated from coal pyrolysis to produce asphaltene,and to promote the conversion of asphaltene into oil and water.Conversely,gaseous hydrogen exhibited relatively weak ability to stabilize free radicals generated by coal and to promote the conversion of asphaltenes to oil and water.The activated hydrogen from solvent and H2 demonstrated a significant synergistic effect,enhancing the conversion of coal into oil,gas and water.
