摘要

Abstract

To study the flight ability and characteristics of Lymantria dispar,flight ability of L.dispar male and female adults from five geographical populations(Guizhou,Yunnan,Sichuan,Inner Mongolia,Shanxi)was tested by flight mill system using 1-4 day-old of adults.Additionally,by measuring their morphological indices,the relationship between flight ability and morphological characteristics was clarified.The results showed that flight ability of male adults was significantly stronger than the female.There were significant differences in flight ability between different day-old of adults.One and two day-old males adults had significantly higher flight ability than three and four day-old,the flight ability of female adults showed decreasing trend with increasing of day-old.The male adults from Yunnan population exhibited stronger flight abilities,while the flight ability of male adults from Sichuan population was weaker,clustering separately in the analysis.The female adults from Inner Mongolia population showed stronger flight abilities,while the flight ability of female adults from Yunnan population was weaker,clustering separately,with northern and southern populations forming distinct groups.Wing loading was negatively correlated with flight ability of L.dispar female adults,while length of the widest part of thoracic segment was positively correlated with flight ability of female adults.The results can provide a theoretical basis for elucidating flight biology and diffusion mechanism of L.dispar.
