Abstract

To scientifically apply abamectin against Hyphantria cunea and explore effects of sublethal concentrations of abamectin on H.cunea larvae,activities of superoxide dismutase(SOD),peroxidase(POD),catalase(CAT),carboxylesterase(CarE),glutathione S-transferase(GST),lipase(LPS),α-amylase(AMS)and trypsin(Try)were tested 24,48 and 72 hours after feeding the fourth,fifth and sixth instars larvae of H.cunea with artificial diets containing sublethal concentrations(LC10 and LC30)of abamectin.The results indicated that after treating with sublethal concentrations of abamectin,activities of three protective enzymes and two detoxification enzymes in three instar larvae exhibited varying trends,activities of three digestive enzymes in the sixth instar larvae were inhibited,and activities of detoxification enzymes in the fourth instar larvae were also inhibited.Activities of POD,CAT and GST in the fifth and sixth instar larvae of H.cunea were induced to different extents,and activities of digestive enzymes in the sixth instar larvae of H.cunea were also inhibited to different extents after treatment with sublethal concentrations of abamectin.Sublethal concentrations of abamectin interfered with activities of protective enzymes,detoxification enzymes,and digestive enzymes in H.cunea larva to different extents,thereby disrupting normal physiological metabolism of H.cunea.The results could provide a theoretical basis for control of H.cunea.
