HANDWRITING AND CHARACTER VIEWING:A STUDY OF CHINESE CHARACTER FONT DESIGN AND APPLICATION BASED ON CHINESE SIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract
It aims to help the deaf community understand the culture of Chinese characters and seeks to solve some of the problems the deaf community has in mastering Chinese characters and the written language.We sort out the evolution of sign language gestures and Chinese characters,analyze the characteristics of Chinese sign language,reveal the similarity between sign language and Chinese characters in terms of the characteristics of viewing objects and taking images,and propose the strategies and methods of integrating the graphic symbols of sign language gestures into the design of Chinese characters.OpenType technology was utilized to design a Chinese Sign Language Chinese character font that is overall more in line with the linguistic characteristics of sign language,helping deaf people to better understand Chinese and use Chinese characters.The design not only enriches the expression of Chinese characters,but also enhances the sense of belonging and identification of the deaf community with the mainstream script,and promotes the construction of a barrier-free communication environment.关键词
