Ionic regulation mechanisms of oil-rock interactions in carbonate reservoirs

Abstract
The oil-rock interaction in carbonate reservoirs determines wettability,which in turn affects oil recovery.And ions have a regulatory effect on this interaction function.The ionic regulation of asphaltene-calcite interactions under dry/hydrated pore conditions and its influence on reservoir wettability and recovery were studied at multiple scales through core flooding ex-periments,atomic force microscopy(AFM),ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy(UV-Vis),and molecular dynamics(MD)simulations.Results demonstrate that asphaltene-calcite interactions significantly affect oil recovery.Monovalent ions(Na+)exhibit limited enhancement of interfacial interactions.However,divalent ions(Ca2+,Mg2+)substantially strengthen inter-actions through strong attractive forces under high-salinity conditions,in which Ca2+shows particularly prominent effects.The pretreatment of with CaCl2 and MgCl2 solution high-salinity increases equilibrium asphaltene adsorption capacities by 36.6%and 28.8%,which significantly affects the wettability.Pore size enlargement can reduce asphaltene adhesive layer thickness and enhance crude oil mobility,and the water film on the pore surface weakens the asphaltene-calcite interactions.While,high-salinity formation water can partially restore asphaltene adsorption through ionic effects.关键词
