Abstract
Objective To investigate and analyze the visual acuity and dioptric status of preschool children in Tianhe District,Guangzhou City.Methods Based on the cluster random sampling method,the visual acuity and refractive status of children aged 3 to 6 years old in kindergartens in Tianhe District,Guangzhou City from January 2023 to February 2024 were investigated.A total of 3321 children(6642 eyes)were included for vision and dioptric tests,and the differences among children of different age groups were analyzed.Results The total incidence of low vision among preschool children was 19.00%.The incidence of low vision was the highest among 6-year-old children,followed by those aged 5,4,and 3 years old in sequence.Among them,the incidence of low vision in children aged 5 and above was 71.79%(453/631).There was no statistically significant difference in the incidence of low vision between different genders(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in spherical diopter and equivalent spherical diopter among children of different ages(P>0.05),while there was a significant difference in cylindrical diopter(P<0.05).Refractive abnormalities in children were mainly simple myopic astigmatism(9.94%),followed by mixed astigmatism(6.71%).With the increase of age,the incidence of simple hyperopia gradually decreases,while the incidence of simple myopia gradually increases.Conclusion The incidence of low vision among preschool children in Tianhe District,Guangzhou City gradually increases with age,and the dioptric abnormalities are mainly astigmatism.Preschool children should have regular vision and dioptric status checks.关键词
