Effect of different light intensity on the cutting propagation of Chrysanthemum morifolium in Qinghai plateau area

Abstract
[Objective]This study aimed to clarify the suitable light conditions for the cutting seedlings of garden chrysanthemum in the Qinghai Plateau and determine the optimal light intensity parameters,providing a theoretical basis for the standardized cultivation of garden chrysanthemum in high-altitude areas.[Methods]The experiment regulated light intensity using different layers of shading nets,with eight garden chrysanthemum varieties('Jinling Meiguijin','Jinling Lianyan','Jinling Xiaoye','Jin-ling Yipinhong','Jinling Lihua','Jinling Fenyulan','Jinling Yangguang',and'Jinling Honghe')as test materials.The effects of different light intensities(CK:0%shading rates,T1:56%shading rates,and T2:79.22%shading rates)on the growth and physiological characteristics of the cuttings were analyzed.[Results]The results showed that under different light-intensity treat-ments,significant differences were observed in the growth,photosynthetic,and physiological indicators of the garden chrysan-themum cuttings.The T1 treatment yielded the best growth metrics,including plant height,stem diameter,leaf number,total root length,root number,and rooting rate.For instance,under T1,the leaf number of'Jinling Meiguijin'increased by 5.70%and 159.38%compared to CK and T2,respectively.As light intensity decreased,gas exchange parameters,chlorophyll con-tent,and root activity of the cultivars first increased and then decreased.Specifically,the total chlorophyll content of'Jinling Yangguang'under T1 treatment was 35.10%and 6.77%higher than that of CK and T2,respectively.Mantel-test showed a strong correlation between net photosynthetic rate and rooting rate but no correlation with survival rate.[Conclusion]The compre-hensive evaluation results showed that the ranking of cuttings performance under different light intensity treatments were T1>CK>T2.Additionally,among the eight cultivars,'Jinling Lianyan'exhibited the best growth performance,demonstrating high utilization value.关键词
