Effect of Cl-content on the corrosion behavior of N80 and TP125V steel in CO2-saturated shale gas fracturing fluid

Abstract
Objective In response to the complex corrosion environment in the shale gas field,the effect of Cl-content on the corrosion behavior of N80 steel and TP125V steel were explored under the condition of simulating CO2-saturated shale gas fracturing fluid environment.Method The influence of 5 000-30 000 mg/L Cl-mass concentration on the corrosion of N80 steel and TP125V steel was analyzed with weight loss method,surface analysis and electrochemical method.Result With the increase of Cl-mass concentration from 5 000 mg/L to 30 000 mg/L,the corrosion rate of N80 steel increased from 0.019 mm/a to 0.025 mm/a,and the corrosion rate of TP125V steel increased from 0.021 mm/a to 0.030 mm/a.The higher the Cl-mass concentration was,the more corrosion pits on the surface of the specimens increased,and the larger diameter of the pits became according to the surface morphology analysis of the specimens.Electrochemical testing indicated that as Cl-mass concentration gradually increased,the polarization resistance(Rp)of N80 steel gradually decreased,while the corrosion current(Icorr)gradually increased,further indicating that corrosion is more severe.Conclusion The increase of Cl-content can promote the corrosion of N80 and TP125V steel in a CO2-saturated shale gas fracturing fluid environment.关键词
