热表面作用下锂电池电解液着火特性研究
Characterization of lithium battery electrolyte ignition under hot surface action
摘要
Abstract
Electrolyte is a key component of lithium batteries and a major combustible in lithium battery fires.In the thermal runaway process,the high-temperature battery case is considered to be an impor-tant ignition source for the electrolyte.Therefore,three kinds of commercial lithium battery electrolytes were selected,and the ignition characteristics of the three electrolytes under the hot surface action were investigated by utilizing an independently constructed hot surface ignition test device,and the relevant ignition parameters,including the ignition phenomenon,the probability of ignition,and the delay time of ignition,were observed.The results show that:the electrolyte mainly boils in the film state under the action of hot surface,and the electrolyte will be rekindled under the action of hot surface;the lithium battery electrolyte ignition on the hot surface is probabilistic;the delay time of ignition decreases with the increase of the hot surface temperature;the ignition mechanism is explored based on the auto-igni-tion temperature of electrolyte,and the reasons for differences in the auto-ignition point of the three kinds of electrolytes and the ignition temperatures on the hot surfaces are explained from the perspec-tive of chemical reaction mechanism.The research results provide an important basis for enriching the fire mechanism of lithium battery and improving the thermal safety theory system of lithium battery.关键词
