Research on prevention and control of rock burst during the connection of drivage roadways in steeply inclined ultra-thick coal seam

Abstract
The stress concentration during connection of drivage roadways tends to induce rock burst disaster,and it is of great significance to ensure the safety of tunnelling.Taking the connection of driv-age roadways in the steeply inclined ultra-thick coal seam of Wudong Coal Mine,Xinjiang Province,as the research object,the FLAC3D numerical simulation method was used to analyze the stress and energy distribution characteristics,as well as the evolution of the surrounding rock during the connection of drivage roadways.The prevention and control strategy and plan of rock burst during the connection of drivage roadways of steeply inclined ultra-thick coal seam were formulated.Based on multiple micro-seismic physical indexes,the characteristics of energy time series variation during connection of road-ways penetration were analyzed and the effect of pressure relief was evaluated.The results show that the peak value of vertical stress,horizontal stress and energy increases with the decreasing of the penetrat-ing distance,and the concentrated area of stress and energy mainly occur between the two driving faces.When approaching the penetrating position 50~120 m,the frequency of microseismic energy in-creases,the b value shows a sudden decline trend,and the S value and EEM value show a gradual in-creasing trend.When two lanes are about to connect,the microseismic frequency fluctuates up and down greatly,the energy appears a small amount of abnormal high value,the b value drops rapidly a-gain,the S value drops to a low value,and the EEM value drops sharply to a minimum value.Statistics show that the average daily total energy released after pressure relief decreases by 60.7%.The total daily frequency decreases by 62.8%;b value,S value and EEM value can well reflect the activity char-acteristics of coal and rock in roadway excavation,and do not deviate from the normal level in the re-verse excavation section,and the pressure relief prevention and control measures are effective.The re-search results could provide a reference for the prevention and control of rock burst during the connec-tion of drivage roadways in steeply inclined ultra-thick coal seam.关键词
