Abstract
Hua Xue Lan Ri Ji(《华学澜日记》Diary of Hua Xuelan)is the diary of the late Qing Dynasty scholar Hua Xuelan(华学澜)between the 25th year of the Guangxu reign(1899)and the 27th year(1901).The diary covered various aspects of daily life,including extensive records related to illness and medical treatment.Through the compilation and study of the diary,one can gain a detailed understanding of historical facts about disease and healthcare,such as the experiences of Hua Xuelan and his acquaintances with illnesses,the treatment processes of seeking medical help,the activities of the medical community,and the circulation of commonly used patent medicines and rare medicinal herbs.The analysis and organization of records from an ordinary patient like Hua Xuelan help bridge the gap between specialized medical knowledge represented in medical texts and real-life practices.It serves as a vivid case study for exploring the interactive relationship between medical practices and social culture as well as daily life,offering significant reference value.关键词
