摘要

Abstract

Using multi-source detection data from S-band dual-polarization weather radar,millimeter-wave cloud radar,microwave radiometer,and laser aerosol radar,this study analyzed the environmental background and structural characteristics of the precipitation cloud associated with a localized short-duration rainstorm that occurred in Jinhua on August 6,2023.The findings are as follows:(1)The temperature and humidity stratification,characterized by cold and dry air above and warm and moist air below,created unstable atmospheric conditions.Meanwhile,a surface mesoscale cold front and cyclonic vortex provided favorable dynamic and thermal triggering mechanisms.(2)The rapid increases of both differential reflectivity(ZDR)and specific differential phase(KDP)lead to the formation of ZDR and KDP columns extending close to the 0 ℃ layer,indicating the existence of strong updrafts and intense precipitation.These features serve as crucial references for short-duration rainstorm warnings.(3)This radar detected the development of convective clouds 20 minutes in advance.The rapid extension of echo tops to 12 km,the reflectivity increased by more than 30 dBZ,and a sharp rise in radial velocity to 10 m·s-1 in the upper layers provided significant early indications for the impending rainstorm.(4)Sudden increase in Integrated Water Vapor(90 kg·m-2)and Integrated Liquid Water Content(10 g·m-2),sustained over time,were identified as reliable indices for forecasting short-duration rainstorms.(5)The"high extinction and high depolarization"spectra,characterized by extinction coefficients exceeding 2 and depolarization ratios greater than 0.3,effectively signaled the occurrence of the short-duration rainstorms.
