Abstract

Each blast furnace in a steel plant is equipped with a gas desalination circulating water system,which periodically discharges filtrate with poor water quality and high salinity that cannot be effectively treated by the existing water treatment facilities.To address this issue,a new filtrate treatment and reuse system was implemented.Given the characteristics of the filtrate,such as significant water quality fluctuations,high CODCr concentration,elevated chloride ions,and high hardness,the system first subjects the raw water to chemical softening and coagulation clarification as pretreatment.It then employs tubular ultrafiltration(UF)+disc-tube reverse osmosis(DTRO)+spiral-wound reverse osmosis(RO)processes to concentrate the filtrate.The treated water is reused to supplement the gas desalination circulating system,while the reduced-volume concentrate is sent to the existing sludge treatment system for blending and disposal.Operational data demonstrate that the system's effluent meets the designed reuse standards,effectively resolving the challenge of high-concentration filtrate disposal.
