Abstract

Objective To explore the influence of intensive nutritional nursing intervention on the clinical effect of elderly critically ill patients.Methods A total of 82 elderly critically ill patients admitted to Jingdezhen First People's Hospital from January to December 2023 were selected as the research objects and randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 41 cases in each group.The control group was given conventional nutritional nursing intervention,while the observation group was given intensified nutritional nursing intervention(adding glutamine,arginine and dietary fiber on the basis of conventional nutritional nursing intervention).The nutritional status[total serum protein(TP),prealbumin(PA),albumin(ALB)]of the two groups of patients before and after the intervention was compared,and the mechanical ventilation conditions(proportion and time)of the two groups of patients and the complications during the intervention were recorded.The patients were followed up until they were discharged from the hospital,and the hospitalization time of the two groups was compared.Results Before the intervention,there was no significant difference in TP,PA and ALB between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,TP,PA and ALB in both groups increased(P<0.05),and were higher in the observation group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the proportion of mechanical ventilation between the two groups(P>0.05).The mechanical ventilation time and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The implementation of enhanced nutritional nursing intervention for elderly critically ill patients can further improve their nutritional status,promote recovery,and has relatively high safety.
