Study on the performance of dental ultra-hard gypsum models containing effective chlorine disinfectants

Abstract
Objective To investigate the performance of dental ultra-hard gypsum models containing 500 mg/L effective chlorine disinfectant,and analyze the cross-sectional morphology of the models using scanning electron microscopy(SEM),providing the basis for the dental application of chlorinated dental ultra-hard gypsum model.Methods Dental ultra-hard gypsum models were made by ultra-hard gypsum mixed with distilled water that as control group,or mixed with containing 500 mg/L effective chlorine disinfectant that made of sodium hypochlorite(NaClO)disinfectant or trichloroisocyanuric acid(TCCA)disinfectant tablets,respectively.The dimensional change,compressive strength,flexural strength and surface hardness,were detected.The cross section of the sample was observed and analyzed by SEM.Results There was no statistically significant difference in dimensional changes of the dental ultra-hard gypsum model containing 500 mg/L effective chlorine disinfectant compared to the control group in AB,A`B`,CD,and OO`(P>0.05).The differences in compressive strength values,flexural strength values,or surface hardness values between the dental ultra-hard gypsum model containing 500 mg/L effective chlorine disinfectant and the control group are not statistically significant(P>0.05).The morphology of the cross-section of the distilled water group and the NaClO group is characterized by irregularly interlaced gypsum crystal,with similar degrees of disorder in the arrangement of gypsum crystal between the two groups.The gypsum crystal of the TCCA group were first arranged in layers of co-directional columns,and then interlaced with non-directional column with similar degrees of disorder.Conclusions The performance of dental ultra-hard gypsum model with 500 mg/L effective chlorine disinfectant meets the requirements of dental models and can be applied to clinical work.关键词
