Abstract

Humidity affects the microscopic process of negative streamer discharge in air gap.Considering the influence of humidity on the parameters of ionization,attachment and recombination process,the fluid model and test platform of negative streamer discharge in rod-plane air gap are established.The dis-charge images were recorded in the experiment,and the width of the development channel and the lumi-nous intensity were compared.The negative streamer discharges current and breakdown voltage under the conditions of humidity of 40%,50%,60%,70%and 80%were measured,and the parameters under different humidity conditions were compared and analyzed from a macro perspective.In the numerical calculation,the initiation,development and breakdown process of negative streamer discharge in air gap are simulated under the condition of humidity of 0%,30%,60%and 90%.The influence of water mol-ecules on the discharge characteristic parameters of negative streamer is compared and analyzed from the microscopic point of view.It is found that under the rod-plate electrode structure,the increase of hu-midity promotes the development of negative streamer.In humid air,the radius of streamer development channel increases by 14%~24%for every 30%increase in humidity.The increase of humidity has a nonlinear effect on the streamer development channel width and the head electron concentration,and the effect tends to be saturated.The increase of humidity will increase the luminous intensity and discharge current.This study has certain reference significance for promoting the practice of gas discharge theory in practical engineering insulation.
