Abstract
The magnesium/steel combination is one of the important ways to achieve automotive light weighting now.Due to poor metallurgical compatibility and large melting point difference between magnesium and steel,as well as low boiling point of Mg(1 091℃),the interface gap defects caused by Mg vapor pores and poor wetting will appear when traditional fusion welding technology is used to directly connect magnesium and steel.The realization of high-performance connection between magnesium alloys and steel is a hot topic and a significant challenge in welding research.The magnesium/steel dissimilar metal welding methods reported so far include melt-brazing,friction stir welding,TLP diffusion welding,resistance spot welding,etc.Their common feature lies in the use of the brazing idea and the introduction of an intermediate layer to improve wettability.There are many reports on welding-brazing using laser and arc as heat sources,and the interlayers used include Al,Cu,Ni,Zn,Sn,etc.Friction stir brazing(FSB)has the advantages of no need for pre-coating,single pass width(≤30 mm),no interface hook defects and keyhole.When FSB is used to join magnesium/steel combination,it can increase the joint's shear strength to 58 MPa.关键词
