Response relationship between multi-spatial scale land use and water quality in typical reservoir-type drinking water sources in South China

Abstract
To study the response relationship between land use in multiple spatial scales and water quality in reservoir-type drinking water sources is of great significance for scientifically and effectively carrying out pollution prevention and control in reservoir catchments.Taking 8 reservoir-type water sources in South China as the research objects,mathematical statistical methods such as redundancy analysis and correlation analysis were used to analyze the response relationship between land use patterns and main water quality indicators at the spatial scales of the first-level protection area,the total protection area(first-level+second-level protection areas),and the catchment area.The results showed that land use at the scale of the total protection area had the greatest impact on reservoir water quality,with an explanation degree reaching 67.2%;grassland could significantly affect reservoir water quality at each scale,forest land was a"sink"for nitrogen and phosphorus at each scale,and the impacts of urban,rural and industrial and mining land,transportation land,and cultivated land on reservoir water quality vary with different scales;the main sources of nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants in the first-level protection area were urban,rural and industrial and mining land,grassland,and cultivated land,and the main sources of nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants in the total protection area and the catchment area were urban,rural and industrial and mining land;forest land was a sink for nitrogen and phosphorus pollutants at the three scales.关键词
