Research on Corrosion Behavior Influence of 5Cr Steel under CO2 Partial Pressures

Abstract
To investigate the corrosion characteristics of 5Cr steel in CO2 flooding environments of oil and gas fields,high temperature and high pressure reactor simulation tests as well as electrochemical testing methods were conducted.By utilizing the weight loss method,potentiodynamic polarization curve techniques,and multi-scale characterization techniques such as SEM-EDS,the influence mechanism of CO2 partial pressure on its corrosion kinetics and passive film characteristics was systematically studied.The results indicate that under varying partial pressures of CO2,the uniform corrosion rate of 5Cr alloy steel remains relatively low.As the partial pressure of CO2 increases,microcracks form in the corrosion product film of low Cr alloy steel,and the corrosive medium directly contacts the substrate,intensifying the corrosion.The self-corrosion potential shifts negatively,and the corrosion current density correspondingly increases.Analysis of the corrosion product morphology reveals that the corrosion product film consists of two layers:the inner layer is primarily composed of Cr(OH)3,while the outer layer mainly contains FeCO3.The electrochemical polarization curves demonstrate that the anodic polarization curve of low-Cr alloy steel in a CO2 corrosion environment exhibits pseudo-passivation behavior.The passivation film formed on the material surface can effectively mitigates the CO2-induced corrosion of 5Cr steel.关键词
