Research progress on the oxidative stress, immune response, and cancer induction mechanism of macrophages by airborne particulate matter
摘要
Abstract
Particulate matter(PM)is a major component of environmental pollution. There are increasing concerns about its impact on human health, especially regarding its effects on macrophage-mediated oxidative stress and immune responses in promoting tumorigenesis.Macrophages play a key role in the body's immune system and serve as the first line of defense against airborne particulate matter invasion.Recent studies have demonstrated that PM strongly affects macrophage function by inducing oxidative stress responses, thereby playing a crucial role in immune reaction. These changes not only compromise the body's defense against pathogens, but may also promote the establishment and progression of cancer through inflammation-related mechanisms. While studies have proposed how PM interferes with macrophage function, the biological effects vary significantly, and their underlying mechanisms remain unresolved. Therefore, this article aims to systematically review the effects of air particulate matter on macrophages, explore its role in oxidative stress, immune response, and tumor development, analyze existing research results, and propose future research directions, providing reference for research in related fields.关键词
