Abstract

Potassium-ion batteries are considered one of the most promising future inexpensive energy storage systems.Due to its high specific capacity and mass density,Sb4O5Cl2 is considered as one of the typical high-energy density anode materials for potassium-ion storage.However,it also suffers from rapid capacity decay and poor rate performance caused by poor conductivity and large volume changes during potassium ions'insertion and extraction processes.Herein,self-made ultra-thin and large-size MXene was used as a conductive additive to solve this problem.The MXene-coated Sb4O5Cl2(MXene@Sb4O5Cl2)composite was prepared as anodic potassium-ion storage material using the ball-milling-assisted ultrasonic shaking method.The physical and chemical properties of the as-prepared MXene@Sb4O5Cl2 materials were characterized by using X-ray diffraction,scanning,and transmission electron microscopy.The electrochemical potassium-ion storage performance and behavior of the MXene@Sb4O5Cl2 materials were tested using electrochemical workstations and constant current charging and discharging equipment.Compared with pure Sb4O5Cl2,the coating of MXene greatly alleviates the rapid capacity decay.The MXene@Sb4O5Cl2 materials show a high rate cycling stability.
