Abstract

To investigate the distribution characteristics of fish diversity and environmental influencing factors in the main stream of the Chishui River,water samples were collected from the main stream of the Chishui River within Guizhou Province during the high-water period in July 2023.Environmental DNA(eDNA)extraction,high-throughput sequencing,and species identification were conducted alongside water quality parameter measurements to analyze fish diversity characteristics and their correlation with environmental factors.The results showed that a total of 81 fish species belonging to 20 families and 8 orders were identified across 10 sampling sections of the Chishui River's main stream.The trends in the Shannon-Wiener diversity index,Simpson index,and Pielou evenness index were generally consistent,showing a gradual decline from upstream to midstream,followed by an increase downstream.The Shannon-Wiener diversity index was significantly correlated with conductivity,total phosphorus,and water temperature(P<0.05).These findings provide valuable insights for the conservation of fish resources and ecological restoration in the main stream of the Chishui River.
