Abstract

Based on a brief introduction to the basic situation of Phase I of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project's central route within the Haihe River Basin,this study analyzes the causes of flood control risks and potential emergencies for four key flood-prone areas:large river-crossing structures,left-bank drainage structures,fully embanked canal sections,and fully excavated canal sections.Corresponding countermeasures are proposed to address these risks.To further enhance the flood control and security capabilities of the project,suggestions such as strengthening the"four-pre"(prediction,early warning,prevention,and emergency response)system and improving emergency duty arrangements are provided.These recommendations can serve as a reference for addressing flood control issues in the central route of the South-to-North Water Diversion Project.
