Community Characteristics and Species Diversity Analysis of Pinus henryi in Saiwudang National Nature Reserve of Hubei Province

Abstract
A sample method was used to study the Pinus henryi community,naturally distributed in Saiwudang National Nature Reserve of Hubei province.The study examined species composition and structure,distribution patterns,species diversity characteristics,and population size structure.The results indicated that the community of P.henryi comprises 156 species of vascular plants,belonging to 106 genera of 65 families.The Rosaceae family was found to be dominant.The distribution pattern of the genera in the community reflects an intersection of tropical,subtropical,and temperate components,with the temperate component being significantly dominant.The life-form spectrum was primarily composed of Phanerophytes(73.7%),aligning with the habitat characteristics of the P.henryi community's distribution area.The important value of P.henryi in the arborous layer reached 66.1%,making it the community's single dominant species.Diversity indices for the arborous,shrub,and herb layers indicated a higher level of community diversity.The Simpson index,Shannon-Wiener index,and probability of intercept encounter for the shrub layer were higher than those of the arborous and herb layers,indicating the abundance of species in the shrub layer.The P.henryi population had more individuals in larger diameter classes but lacked small diameter class individuals,suggesting that while the population was stable,its regenerative capacity was not optimal.According to the research,the P.henryi community in Saiwudang National Nature Reserve was well protected,the forest structure was orderly,growth was vigorous,and the community was in the process of transitioning to a mature stage.关键词
