Abstract

This paper aims to effectively evaluate the stability of the surrounding rock and its risk ar-eas during the mining process of conversion from open pit to underground.By taking the surrounding rock of the void area and the open slope in an iron mine as the research objects,the study consists of using mi-croseismic monitoring to obtain the development trend of the surrounding rock rupture in underground mining activities,analyzing the potential areas of peripheral rock destabilisation by simulating the stress field of the future underground mining activities,and giving the recommendations for the subsequent filling in the goaf area.The results show that with the development of underground mining activities,the micro-seismic event clusters gradually move from the goaf periphery to the the open pits,and shows a graduale increase in the number of ruptures and energy dissipation.The microseismic event clusters are distributed in the area of more intense changes in tensile and shear stresses,and the excavation in the goal of-120 m will cause the extension of the tensile and shear stress zone from the goaf to the bottom of the open pit,which affects the stability of the east gang of the open pit.The field practice shows that filling the 18#and I16 goaf before mining can effectively improve the stability of the top pillar and slope,and ensure the smooth transition of safe production from open pit to underground.
