Global Dynamics and Applications of a Nonlinear Cholera Model with Immune Decline and Multiple Infection Modalities

Abstract
In order to deeply understand the dynamical behavior of cholera transmission and explore feasible control measures in complex environments for cholera,a cholera epidemic model was constructed with waning vaccine-induced immunity,multiple infection pathways and nonlinear incidences.The basic reproduction number was calculated by application of the next-generation matrix method,and the Volterra-type Lyapunov function was constructed to obtain the global threshold dynamics determined by the basic reproduction number.Furthermore,combined with the related data from the Federal Republic of Somalia,the key parameters were estimated,and the sensitivity analysis of the basic reproduction number was further conducted.The results indicated that enhancing the vaccination rate and the treatment rate for infectious individuals,and purifying water sources were significantly effective measures for controlling the cholera epidemic.This study could serve as a theoretical reference for curbing the spread of cholera in complex environments.关键词
