Abstract

The synthesis of schwertmannite mediated by A.ferrooxidans was used as a catalyst to investigate the effects of schwertmannite dosage,H2O2 concentration,initial pH,and reaction time on the treatment efficiency of textile dyeing wastewater by Fenton-like reaction.The treatment performance under the optimal catalytic conditions was compared with that of the traditional Fenton reaction,and the recycling performance of schwertmannite as a catalyst was also examined.The results showed that when the schwertmannite dosage was 8 g/L,the H2O2 concentration was 800 mg/L,the initial pH was 3.00,and the reaction time was 3 h,the removal rates of chroma,TOC,and COD in the wastewater reached 93.86%,89.75%,and 85.65%,respectively.Schwertmannite exhibited good removal efficiency for pollutants in textile dyeing wastewater,and 8 g/L schwertmannite could achieve removal rates of 82.19%,53.75%,and 41.99%for chroma,TOC,and COD,respectively.Under the optimal reaction conditions,the schwertmannite/H2O2 system showed comparable removal efficiencies for TOC and COD in the wastewater to the traditional homogeneous Fenton system,but the former was more favorable for chroma removal.After 6 cycles of reuse,the removal rates of chroma,TOC,and COD in the wastewater only decreased by 4.88%,6.90%,and 7.81%,respectively.
