摘要
Abstract
The establishment of heritage identity is a dynamic and complex 'socio-spatial' process.Closely linked to it,the heritagisation process mainly com-prises two interrelated dimensions:the establishment of a heritage conservation framework and the con-struction of heritage identity.Heritage conservation follows a practice-oriented path of 'heritage registra-tion,conservation and restoration, and revitalisation and reuse',while heritage identity follows a theoret-ical path of 'value recognition, value interpretation, and value dissemination'.This article discovers that,as a typical heritage type, the heritigisation of the former residences of celebrities is characterised by two distinctive mechanisms:(1)a government-led heritage conservation mechanism centred on property rights and policy, interacting with tenants and propri-etors;and(2)an expert-led heritage identity mecha-nism that leverages the reputational effects of celeb-rities and prestigious residences to engage the public and media.Through the case studies of three exam-ples in Guangzhou,Guangdong Province-namely,the former residences of Lin Keming(1900-1999),Chen Lianbo(1884-1945),and Huang Yuyu(1903-1942)—the article details the heritagisation paths and mechanisms shaped by different leading forces. It further analyses the causes and issues behind their varying outcomes and highlights the characteristics and challenges in the heritagisation of former resi-dences of celebrities.关键词
