Abstract

With the improvement of the safety requirements of car seats,more and more attention is paid to whipping test.In order to study the mechanism of neck injury in whipping test and strengthen the protection of seat for occupant.The historical development of whipping test is briefly described,and the research direction and the improvement of research methods of whipping test are described in detail.According to the whip test procedures and whip test scoring principles in C-NCAP Management Rules(2021 Edition),the whip sled test is carried out by using the accelerated vehicle,Bio RID II crash test dummer,HPM+HRMD and other equipment,and the test results are analyzed and scored.The test results show that the main loss index of whipping test is NIC index,which is caused by the excessive difference between head acceleration and chest acceleration.The NIC value can be reduced and the whipping performance can be improved by reducing the gap behind the head,raising the height of the headrest and increasing the strength of the backrest frame.The summarized improvement methods of NIC index and neck load index can provide reference for related whipping test research.
