Abstract

To determine the control effect of 12%flufenacet·saflufenacil suspension concentrate(SC)against annual weeds in winter wheat fields and to access the safety of the crop under soil spray treatment,a field experiment was conducted by random block design method.The results showed that pre-emergence application of 12%flufenacet·saflufenacil SC effectively controlled major annual weeds such as Alopecurus aequalis,Descurainia sophia,and Capsella bursa-pastoris in winter wheat field.However,its control effect against Bromus japonicus was slightly lower.At application rates of 144,180,216,and 360 g active ingredient(a.i.)/hm2,the weed density was reduced by 88.22%,91.08%,94.27%,and 97.13%,respectively,at 30 days after the application(DAA),and 87.07%,90.34%,93.45%,and 96.21%,respectively,at 165 DAA.Weed biomass was reduced by 87.93%,91.44%,94.15%,and 96.76%,respectively.The herbicide demonstrated better control efficacy and was safe for the tested winter wheat variety Wanfeng 826,with yield increase rate ranging from 14.48%~15.13%compared to the untreated control.Therefore,12%flufenacet·saflufenacil SC has significant advantages for annual weed control in winter wheat field.A soil spray application at a recommended rate of 144~216 g a.i./hm2 is advised for optimal results.
