摘要
Abstract
Tracks in the Snowy Forest is one of the representatives of Chinese contemporary revolutionary novels.Sidney Shapiro translated it in-to English in the 1960s.This translation shouldered the important task of shaping the international discourse of China at that time, which is of great significance for the contemporary Chinese culture to go abroad at present. This study analyzes culture-loaded words,"black talk",non-narrative dis-course and illustrations in the translation and finds out that Shapiro cleverly balanced defamiliaization and readability in his translation practice,mak-ing the translation deviate from the norms of the target language to a certain extent, while also taking the aesthetic needs and reading habits of the tar-get language readers into account.关键词
