Survey on the use of preservatives in washing and care products used in hotels and beauty salons

Abstract
To explore the addition of preservatives in washing and care products in hotels and beauty salons and understand the use of new preservatives,thus providing a scientific basis for the safety supervision and quality research of preservatives,this study used the detection method of 23 preservatives such as methylisothiazolinone mentioned in the"Specifications"(2015 edition)to determine the preservatives in 83 batches of washing and care products sold in such places from 2022 to 2023.The results showed that a total of 7 batches of preservatives were added in violation of regulations,with a failure rate of 8.4%,of which 5 batches added Kathon over the limit,and 2 batches added the banned raw materials kason and 4-hydroxybenzoic acid isopropyl ester.Most of the domestic ordinary cleansing and care cosmetics in this type of place came from Guangdong Province,and methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate,phenoxyethanol,and chlorphenesin were used frequently;new restricted components including 4-hydroxybenzoic acid,5-bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane,and chlorphenesin were detected.The amount of preservatives used in samples in the past two years was similar,at 0～3 900 μg/g and 0～4 700 μg/g.The main preservative mainstream of a single batch of samples was to add 1 to 5 components;among them,4-hydroxybenzoic acid was used in 3 to 4 composite feeds,and the types of feeds decreased year by year,while the amount of feeds showed a slight upward trend year by year.The inconsistency rate between the preservative components marked on the label and the actual test results increased year by year;the inconsistency of benzoic acid,chlorphenesin,and methylisothiazolinone was more serious.Under the conditions of this experiment,the unqualified rate of cleansing and care products in such places steadily increased,the unqualified rate of Kathon items was high,there was a phenomenon of illegal use of banned raw materials,and the inconsistency rate of label ingredient comparison was high.Therefore,relevant departments should continue to strengthen the supervision of cleansing and care cosmetics in such places.关键词
