Abstract
Objective:To investigate the relevant clinical risk factors for preventing neonatal asphyxia in primary hospitals.Methods:A case-control study design was adopted.Data were collected from singleton live births and their mothers delivered at Boluo County People's Hospital between January 2019 and December 2023.The case group comprised 107 neonates diagnosed with asphyxia.The control group included 214 non-asphyxiated neonates randomly selected at a 1:2 ratio.General characteristics and clinical data of the neonates and their mothers were compared between the two groups.Multivariate logistic regression analysis was used to identify factors associated with neonatal asphyxia.Results:A total of 8,885 neonates were included during the study period.The incidence of neonatal asphyxia was 1.2%(107/8,885).Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that overweight during pregnancy(OR=3.146,95%CI:2.363-7.978),preterm birth(OR=2.176,95%CI:1.629-3.631),maternal education level of junior high school or below(OR=2.318,95%CI:1.335-3.675),gestational diabetes mellitus(OR=1.921,95%CI:1.388-3.245),amniotic fluid abnormalities(OR=3.028,95%CI:2.021-5.307),and premature rupture of membrane(OR=3.313,95%CI:2.605-6.333)were positively associated with neonatal asphyxia(all P<0.05).Conclusion:Primary hospitals should prioritize care and enhance monitoring for pregnant women with low education levels,overweight during pregnancy,and obstetric complications(including preterm birth,gestational diabetes mellitus,amniotic fluid abnormalities,and premature rupture of membrane)to reduce the risk of neonatal asphyxia.关键词
