Abstract

The research status and limitations of the merging intervisibility triangle are briefly summarized,and a calculation model for the merging intervisibility triangle of the interchange are established.The lengths of mainline side and ramp side within the merging intervisibility triangle are analyzed respectively.Based on the vehicle operat-ing speed and longitudinal gradient,the correction value of the mainline side length is calculated,and then the lon-gitudinal gradient correction coefficient of the mainline side length is obtained.At the same time,based on the vehicle operating speed,the ramp recognition intervisibility distance is calculated,and the recommended value of the ramp side length is obtained.Taking the urban elevated road section as an example,combined with the operating speed and the gradient difference between the mainline and the ramp,the checking calculation of intervisibility distance of the mainline in the merging intervisibility triangle is carried out.It is proposed that a lane isolation section should be set in the section with limited intervisibility distance.The recommended value of the length of the lane isolation sec-tion is given based on the gradient difference between the mainline and the ramp and the length of the ramp vertical curve.The research results can be used as a supplement and improvement to the existing specifications for the merg-ing intervisibility triangle and the lane isolation section.
