Abstract

The data file that characterizes railway infrastructure information is a necessary condition for the intelligentization of train operation organization and a data foundation for conducting related research.Railway transportation involves numerous elements,and organizing train operations naturally requires information of the same thing with different resolutions at different levels,positions,and businesses.To meet the needs of future railway train operation organizations at various levels,positions,and business collaboration and integrated connectivity and facilitate the integration and reuse of research achievements for different resolution scenarios,this paper proposed a multi-resolution extensible markup language(XML)data model for characterizing railway infrastructure information for train operation organization.Unified modeling language(UML)was used to clarify the organizational structure of the model,defining the format of infrastructure information and organizational logic required for train operation organization at macro,meso,and micro resolutions and designing consistent interaction rules.In addition,a railway network drawing program that can generate the file in this data format was developed.Based on the above achievements,different resolution data files were established for stations,lines,and networks such as the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway,and the files were applied as basic input data in fields such as train operation simulation,real-time dispatching supervision,and operation optimization.The results indicate that the files defined by the data model can meet the needs of train operation organization,production,and research in various scenarios with multiple resolutions.
