Abstract

A stable crushed stone base material was prepared by industrial solid waste carbide slag to stimulate blast furnace slag cementitious material instead of cement to be a binder.The hydration products and hydration heat char-acteristics of binders were analyzed,and the effects of different binder dosages on the mechanical properties,drying shrinkage,and frost resistance of stable crushed stone base materials were studied.The research results indicate that the hydration products of carbide slag-slag(CS-S)are mainly Ca(OH)2,C-S-H,and contain hydrotalcite with a cumulative heat release of only one-third of that of cement after 3 days;With the increase of binder content,the optimal moisture content and unconfined compressive strength of both CS-S stabilized crushed stone and cement stabilized crushed stone increase.When the binder content is the same,the optimal moisture content and uncon-fined compressive strength of CS-S stabilized crushed stone are higher than those of cement stabilized crushed stone;Under the same amount of binder,both the drying shrinkage and frost resistance of CS-S stabilized crushed stone base material are superior to those of cement stabilized crushed stone base material.This research result can provide theoretical and technical support for the construction of green and low-carbon highway infrastructure.
