摘要

Abstract

The article focused on the adsorption effects of two different sizes of polystyrene microplastics(PS-MPs)on Cu2+in aqueous solutions and their underlying mechanisms.The results showed that both 30-mesh and 200-mesh PS had the ability to adsorb Cu2+,and the pseudo-second-order kinetic model could fit the adsorption capacity of PS well.By fitting the adsorption isotherm results with the Langmuir model and Freundlich model,it was found that the Freundlich model was more suitable for describing the isothermal adsorption characteristics of PS-MPs on Cu2+,that is,the adsorption process was mainly multilayer adsorption.In addition,the adsorption capacity of PS for Cu2+first increased and then decreased with the increase of pH value,and the maximum adsorption capacity was reached at a pH value of 7.With the increase of Na+concentration,the adsorption capacity of PS gradually decreased.Meanwhile,the particle size of PS was also an important factor affecting the adsorption of heavy metals by PS-MPs,and the smaller the PS particle size,the stronger the adsorption capacity for Cu2+.
