Digital Transformation and Enterprise Division of Labor:Theoretical Mechanism and Empirical Test

Abstract
Promoting the deepening of division of labor is an inevitable path to building a new development pattern.Its es-sence is the redistribution of work tasks among different job positions.Based on the data of China's A-share listed companies from 2006 to 2023,this paper constructs the measurement indicators of enterprise division of labor within enterprises from the per-spective of employment structure.Combined with the production scale effect and financing constraint effect,the paper further ex-plores the influence effect of digital transformation on enterprise division of labor and its action mechanism.The research finds that digital transformation significantly promotes enterprise division of labor.Heterogeneity analysis results show that the promo-tion effect of digital transformation on enterprise division of labor is more prominent in non-state-owned enterprises,companies in highly competitive industries,and technology-intensive enterprises.Mechanism test results indicate that digital transformation en-hances enterprise division of labor by expanding production scale,alleviating financing constraints,and accelerating employment structure adjustment.Further discussion reveals that there is a bidirectional causal relationship between employment structure ad-justment and enterprise division of labor.关键词
