Abstract
Li Dazhao's acceptance and application of historical materialism benefited from the thinking way of the Evolution Theory,which was profoundly and clearly reflected in his analysis of the"European War"and the post-war world,and China's direction.He portrayed the history of the development forms of human society in the historical materialism as an evolutionary history.Before the October Revolution,Li Dazhao regarded"harmony"and"competition"as complemen-tary"evolutionary functions".He not only emphasized mutual assistance from the moral and ethi-cal level,but also recognized that the competition between"new"and"old"was the key driving force for promoting the evolution of the world.After the October Revolution,Li Dazhao repeatedly discussed"mutual assistance",which was the continuation of the ideas of"reconciliation"and"cooperation"in a new context."Mutual assistance"and the seemingly contradictory"class com-petition"were placed within the analytical framework of evolution theory and historical material-ism,achieving deep mutual shaping and integration.Li Dazhao used the Evolution Theory to ex-plain the historical materialism and used the historical materialism to transform the concept of evo-lution,which promoted his understanding and dissemination of Marxism.关键词
