Abstract

This study aims to elucidate the antimicrobial resistance mechanisms of a strain of Kluyvera sichuanensis(K.sichuanensis)(LHN-g4)isolated from swine in Jilin Province,China.The strain was identified as K.sichuanensis through 16S rRNA gene sequencing.Minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)assays revealed that the strain exhibits resistance to multiple antibiotics,with particularly high resistance levels to β-lactams,aminoglycosides,and macrolides.Whole genome sequencing analysis demonstrated that the strain possesses a 5 096 378 bp chromosome harboring 18 antimicrobial resistance genes,including 8 contiguous efflux pump genes adjacent to resistance determinants,which collectively contribute to the resistant phenotype of LHN-g4.Notably,CTX-M-95,a broad-spectrum β-lactamase,further enhances the strain's resistance profile.Additionally,plasmid N-1 was found to carry genes associated with the type Ⅳ secretion system,two resistance genes,and a composite transposon,all of which participate in the resistance mechanisms of LHN-g4.In conclusion,the antimicrobial resistance of LHN-g4 is determined by the combined effects of chromosomal resistance genes,the type Ⅳ secretion system,and the transposon located on plasmid N-1.
